Had some maple and walnut scraps left over from some other projects so used them to make some cake knife and server sets. Never did these before but got a lot of advice from my buddies…” the thinner the better”. Started at 1/4” thick pieces for the knives and planed them down quite a bit. Used 3/4” pieces for the servers then cut the profiles on the band saw. Beveled the blades down to a fairly sharp edge. Laminated the handles and sanded to 320. Finished with mineral oil. Plan on making walnut boxes for both sets.
